A 9-year-old single malt from Bruichladdich, released under the Port Charlotte name. Bottled as the Wind & Wave label, this cask shows off the remarkable quality we’ve all come to love with peated Laddie.
Having lost a significant amount of ABV in its 9 years of maturation, the Wind & Waves folks made an interesting decision.
Regauged to 50% ABV, this PC is designed to be compared to its 9yo Octomore brother (also available from today) at 50% also.
Nose: Roast chestnuts, cinnamon cookies, damp oak and a whisper of tobacco.
Palate: Medicinal peat smoke arrives on the palate, joined by fresh cherry, vanilla and subtle violet hints.
Finish: Just a smidge of molasses and vanilla sneak out behind continued smoky salinity.
