Three of the greatest things life has to offer.

Only the geniuses/madman at Hobart Whisky, John Jarvis, could think to combine all of these wonderful things in one bottle for Winter Feast 2022.

First, a cask was sent to Boks Bacon to sit in the smokehouse for a week and be infused with sweet bacon smoke. Next, it was filled with natural maple syrup. Finally, the maple syrup was tipped and delicious ex-bourbon cask Hobart Whisky was poured in for several months of finishing.

The end result?

A sweet and lightly savoury nose with notes of barbecued pineapple, maple syrup and vanilla toffee. The palate is thick and creamy with sweet rich maple syrup and burnt sugar, over campfire grilled bacon on buttermilk pancakes. More vanilla and tropical fruit with a touch of light leather from the initial bourbon cask maturation. A long lingering finish, biscoff crumb, light tobacco and cigar box wood.


NOW FOR SOMETHING EXTRA TASTY.

When a whisky is being prepared for bottling it sits in a settling vat for a number of weeks so that the heavier, cloudy but more flavourful compounds sink to the bottom allowing the more aesthetically pleasing clear liquid to be bottled from the top.

Some call what remains dregs; some call it whisky butter; some call it floc shots - we call it delicious!

The Hobart Crew have bottled the floc shots from this release exclusively for Barrel & Batch members. Expect a more intense expression of the official bottling with all of the oily goodness. The liquid is not crystal clear but it is absolutely packed with flavour.

Don’t forget this syrup whisky comes with a bottle of the syrupy goodness that made it, the bacon maple stout from the cask it was aged in.
