This is the second edition of our two-part series with TIB.
We selected this drop together with Wouldn’t Have the Heart, when selecting casks immediately we knew that these two whiskies had to stay together.
You won’t see much difference in specs on the two releases. It’s the same Renowned NSW distillery, the ABV dropping by 1 and only yielding 3 more bottles than its brother barrel. The big difference is obviously the cask type, this being Oloroso.
While there is plenty cask influence in this number, the TIB & Heartwood DNA, we find it more spirit forward. A beautiful double set from an outstanding whisky legend.
A Rose Between Two Thorns
Nose: Creme caramel, warm tea cake dusted with confectioners sugar, buttered raisin toast
Palate: sweet entry before brandy butter lathered pud comes to the fore. Viscous and oily.
Finish: Good length with spiked-fruit mince sweetness till the end. Quality cask.
Exclusive to Barrel & Batch Whisky Co-op
