This July, the Swedish candy store that went viral arrives in Beacon Hill. Nantasket Sweets By Swedes — the family-run Swedish candy company on Nantasket Beach since 2020 — is opening a second store at 115 Charles Street, in the heart of one of Boston's most-loved neighbourhoods. Authentic Swedish candy, a pick-your-own candy wall, and chocolate made by hand are coming to the city. Here's everything you need to know.
Why Charles Street?
Charles Street has always belonged to the genuine article — independent shops, real craftspeople, and the kind of small businesses you actually remember. It's walkable, full of character, and just steps from Boston Common and the Public Garden. In other words, it's exactly where a real Swedish candy store belongs, and we couldn't think of a better home for our first Boston address.
What to expect inside
If you've been to our Hull store, you know the drill. If you haven't, you're in for a treat:
A pick-your-own candy wall — stocked with authentic Swedish favourites flown in fresh: sweet, sour, foamy, fruity, and the famous salty licorice.
Lördagsgodis, any day you like — the Swedish ‘Saturday candy’ tradition. Grab a bag, take a scoop, build your own.
Handmade chocolate — made by hand in small batches from Valrhona and Callebaut, with real cream, real cane sugar and real vanilla bean, and no preservatives. Sea-salt caramels, pecan turtles, fudge and Dubai chocolate, beautifully boxed for gifting.
Candy for the pure joy of it; chocolate for the moments that matter.
Real Swedes, since 2020
Nantasket Sweets isn't a trend that opened last year. We're a real Swedish family business, bringing the candy we grew up on to New England since 2020 — fresh, authentic, and better by nature: much of our candy is gluten-free, gelatin-free, and made without high-fructose corn syrup. And the handmade chocolate is the part no one else can copy. It's coming to Charles Street with us.
Boston's already talking
We're not the only ones looking forward to it. Our Swedish candy went viral, and the buzz hasn't slowed: we've been featured on CBS News and in Boston's WhatNow as we get ready to open on Charles Street.
