We’re pleased to present the newly redesigned logo and website for the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Washington (JGSGW).
Genealogy is more than research; it’s storytelling, connection, and preserving heritage. Founded in 1980, the JGSGW is a resource for family historians in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The Society supports genealogical research, fosters collaboration among members, and works to preserve Jewish family history. Membership is open to anyone interested in exploring and sharing their heritage.
A Fresh Look for a Well-Established Genealogy Society
We set out to modernize the JGSGW’s visual identity while honoring the organization’s history. The logo redesign is an evolution of a previous logo which also featured the Capital building. By simplifying the forms and using a vibrant palette, the new logo icon highlights the society’s location and the vibrant community it serves. It’s a look that’s distinctive and easy to recognize. The refreshed logo features high contrast, clear typography for improved readability in a variety of layouts.
A Website Built for Growth
Alongside the logo refresh, we designed and developed a new website that makes it easier than ever for members and visitors to engage with the JGSGW’s offerings.With clear navigation and a responsive layout, the site supports those just starting their family history journey and more experienced researchers, giving them easy access to all the essential tools and resources.
This membership-focused site includes:
- An event calendar to easily view and register for upcoming programs
- A member management system to handle memberships and renewals, as well as secure donations
- Member-only areas with surname tools, downloadable guides, research databases, and special interest groups
The new website ensures members can focus on what matters most: exploring their heritage and connecting with the community.
