Know Your Breasts
Doctors used to recommend that women do breast self-exams every month. The goal was to find suspicious lumps early, and many women did. But research over time showed that many of the biopsies on lumps women found during self-exams did not find cancer.Today, doctors say most women don’t need to do self-exams. Instead, the goal is breast awareness. Get to know your breasts -- the shape, feel, color, and size. When you spot any changes to your normal, that’s when to call your doctor.
