Rivturf Instant Lawn
Gardening - East Wagga Wagga, NSW
Rivturf is a growing, locally owned and run family business operating in the North Wagga area since about 1996.
We initially planted 14 acres of kikuyu on the old dairy on the "The Island" at North Wagga. Since then we have moved and expanded to the current stocks of 25 acres of kikuyu and 25 acres of Sir Walter Buffalo on "Clarendon" further up river but still in the North Wagga area.
We pride ourselves on our quality product and service, as well as a commitment to responsible business growth, constantly mindful of environmental issues and the community in which we live.
Over past years, due to ongoing drought and then floods, we have experienced the same pressures as all other businesses in the area, in particular due to our high reliance on water to grow our product. We have been forced to adapt our business practices to ensure our ability to grow and continue to provide quality service and product to local families, builders, landscapers and other businesses.
These adaptations include the purchase of more efficient and reliable irrigation equipment, as well as altering our irrigation practices to water more efficiently and cost effectively. We continue to explore more cost effective and ecologically aware practices.
We are excited at the prospect of expanding our business, and the grass varieties available through the use of effluent water from a local abattoir. This can offer great environmental benefits through a reduction in use of water from the river system, reduced impact on water tables which can affect salinity, reduced use of mass produced fertilisers and the visual benefits of green areas adjacent to an industrial zone.
