Ramsgate RSL Memorial Club located at Sans Souci is a leading entertainment, dining and lifestyle destination in southern Sydney features a number of bars, a cafe and a new modern restaurant.
Ramsgate RSL Memorial Club was formed in 1956 in Ramsgate, from the Ramsgate RSL Sub Branch. Mr J Carberry was listed as President, with Ray Mates as Secretary and H. Jarret as Treasurer.
Ramsgate RSL Memorial Club was granted a liquor license in the following year and together with the legalisation of gaming machines, this allowed the club to accumulate fund and commence building modern club premises by 1963. The new club building was finished in 1965 and was officially opened in April of that year by Major General Ivan Dougherty, Director of Civil Defence in NSW and one of Australia’s most distinguished military commanders.
Today Ramsgate RSL boasts some 12,000 members in a well established retail and residential district.
