After graduating with honours, he went on to acquire the Part 1 Fellowship exam of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. Further developing skills and knowledge in the area, he obtained the Diploma in Practical Dermatology from the University of Wales (UK), and the Certificate of Dermatology from the University of Monash, Melbourne.

In addition to his qualifications and extensive experience in the field of cosmetic surgery, Dr. Szalay has done 5 years of specialized surgical training in some reputed hospitals in Sydney and Perth and has been trained in cosmetic procedures in leading cosmetic surgery centres in the U.S.A. and Australia.
