Our Origin The Tradition Continues…
Mount Nathan Winery is a progression of involvement in the wine industry by the Gibson family over generations.
The founder, George Gibson was born in Cessnock in 1920. George become fascinated in wine when as a teenager he would pick grapes for the established wineries in the surrounding area.
Years of experimentation led to the formation of the Central Coast Winery, formerly situated at Holgate in the Matcham Valley, one of the most picturesque areas of the New South Wales, Central Coast.
George’s son Peter joined the winery in 1979. George and Peter have expanded the product range over the years to include Premium Wines, Fortifieds and Aperitifs.
After developing a unique range of honey based products, Peter has established Mt Nathan Winery in Queensland’s famous Gold Coast Hinterland.
MOUNT NATHAN WINERY
Mount Nathan Winery is situated amongst the rich nectar of a Paulownia plantation on the lush Clagiraba Creek.
Bee hives have been established on the property to take advantage of the natural environment to produce our desired additive-free honey.
Honey is extracted and packaged on site to be sold to the public as well as fermented/fortified on site to produce a truly unique range of products.
