Restaurants - Sydney, NSW
Machiavelli only uses the finest quality and freshest ingredients available; we source organic produce wherever possible to bring you the very best Italian flavours.
Machiavelli Restaurant was established on the 29th August 1988. Following on from the great success of her former restaurant “La Strada”, in Sydney’s Potts Point, Giovanna Toppi and her daughters created what was to become an institution on the Sydney dining scene.
Originally Machiavelli opened only for lunch, serving a loyal clientele for 10 years. During this time business was brisk and the restaurant was consistently operating at full capacity, so with the lead up to the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Giovanna and Caterina made the decision to open the restaurant in the evenings, a decision on which they have never looked back, even during economic downturns.
Today; 27 years on, Giovanna is supported by a dedicated kitchen team, and her daughter Caterina manages a long line of loyal waiters who have worked for Machiavelli since its inception.
Machiavelli only uses the finest quality and freshest ingredients available; we source organic produce wherever possible to bring you the very best flavours. Being based in the Sydney CBD, we are privileged to be served by world standard markets and our seafood for example is delivered fresh, twice daily at 7am & 2pm.
At Machiavelli our primary aim is to satisfy our loyal customers and give them the classic food and service for which they will want to return again and again. We have never bowed to the pressure of newspaper reviews or chefs hats because, as they say “today’s newspaper review is tomorrow’s fish and chip wrapping”. Our greatest strength is our tradition of quality food and impeccable service and our longevity is testament to that.
Please let your waiter know if you have any specific dietary requirements as alterations can be made to any menu item within reason. Our Chefs would be happy to indulge your special requests, if you in turn will indulge us with the necessary time to prepare it.
Thank you for your patronage.
