Restaurants - Leura, NSW
Leura Garage's menu is designed to offer great food throughout the day, from beef sirloin carpaccio with chevre, beetroot puree, candied walnuts and soy balsamic to smoked salmon and prosciutto.
Internationally acclaimed Executive Chef Regan Porteous is the mastermind behind the creation of latest dishes at Leura Garage. Based on the brief from the owner James Howarth, dishes should include produce that is sourced within 100 miles wherever possible. “Fresh, local, organic and expressive of the Mountains” is how James would describe it. A good example would be pork knuckle from Mudgee, free-range chicken wings from Dubbo, lamb from Lithgow Valley, beef from Kanimbla Valley or bacon from Orange, all complemented by seasonal greens from First Farm Organics in the Kanimbla valley.
Having worked with Gordon Ramsey and Jason Attherton to open and operate Ramsey’s ‘Maze’ in London (achieving a Michelin star) as well as setting up Zuma in both Hong Kong and Dubai has provided Regan with the tools and experience to raise the bar in the Blue Mountains culinary scene. Regan says. "I was honoured to be given the opportunity to put my mark on one of the most exciting venues in the Blue Mountains. "
The menu is designed to offer great food throughout the day, every day, from 12pm onward. We understand people are on holiday and visiting the Mountains at all hours of the day and we are always available to satisfy small or large appetites. People come together when they’re dining in the Mountains and the food at the Garage was created to be shared.
From beef sirloin carpaccio with chevre, beetroot puree, candied walnuts and soy balsamic to smoked salmon and prosciutto spiked with lemon zest and thyme, to arrosticini in chilli, garlic and rosemary, the menu offers a variety of delicacies to suit all palates. As a share food venue we encourage customers to try different dishes, and if you can’t decide there are tasting menu and banquet options starting at just $35 per person
When you think of food at the Leura Garage don’t forget that it is just part of the overall experience. Being able to enjoy locally sourced food with slick service in a contemporary, environmentally friendly venue gives you the complete experience.
