If not for media or word-of-mouth, it'll be harder to know that there is a cool and hip bar hidden down an alley way off Howard Street. Helvetica is one of the pioneers in the emerging 'small bar scene' in Perth.

Its main crowd—young and working go here to unwind after a stressful day at work. The food is tasty and no-frills bar chow sans fancy names and high prices. Helvetica specialises in whiskey, with a regular stock of 70 varieties from Scotland and all over the globe. There's also a small range of wines, beers and cocktails.

The bar staff at Helvetica is quite friendly and know their stuff, advising you on the drinks. Secluded location aside, Helvetica can still be packed out, especially on Thursday and Friday evenings.
