Greater Shepparton - popular with visitors since 1838...
Shepparton began with a river crossing and a travellers’ inn – ever since we have been in the business of servicing travellers’ needs.
Shepparton’s central location has made it a stopover point for many travellers through the years. From the first inhabitants, early “overlanders’ Bonney and Hawdon (1838), hopefuls crossing the river here as they moved from the Central Victorian Goldfields to Victoria's North East, many thousands who have come from throughout Australia and the world to help out at harvest, and those who have come from far away places and now call Shepparton home: travellers have come, stayed and moved on.
Past visitors to Shepparton fondly remember:

Victoria Park Lake – water skiing and swimming
