Our Vision is:
An equitable and safe society for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities.
Our purpose is:
To eliminate family and sexual violence through quality holistic legal services, education and community partnerships.
FVLSAC is an Aboriginal community controlled organisation established in 2011 to provide assistance to victims/survivors of family violence and/or sexual assault and to work with families and communities affected by violence.
We provide free legal advice, referrals, ongoing casework and court representation, and assist in the following areas:
-Intervention orders;
-Family Law;
-Child Protection;
-Victims' of Crime Compensation;
-Other legal problems arising from family violence.
FVLSAC also engages in community legal education and community development activities, as well as policy and law reform directed towards systemic change.
We are funded through the Commonwealth Government – Department of Prime Minister & Cabinet.
