Dr John Mc Hugh Oral, Maxillofacial & Cosmetic Surgeon

Originally from England, I began my career with a Science degree at Sussex University in England, then a degree in Dentistry in the London Hospital Medical College at the University of London. I also completed diplomas at the Royal College of Surgeons England and the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.​

I migrated to Australia permanently in 1999 to study Medicine at the University of Sydney, and soon developed a passion for cosmetic surgery, and went on to complete fellowships in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

My experience working with patients requiring facial reconstruction due to injuries and deformities inspired me to complete a fellowship in cosmetic surgery with the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery.

Throughout my career, I have performed a range of complex humanitarian surgeries overseas as a Surgeon Commander with the Royal Australian Navy.

As a cosmetic surgeon, I take very seriously my role in improving patients’ quality of life and confidence in their appearance.

My complementary specialisations in Oral, Maxillofacial and Cosmetic surgery enables me to deliver a natural looking result through over 20 years of experience working with both the superficial layers and the muscular structure of the face and body.
