At DNAco business experience working in Commercial Concrete construction and general Commercial and Domestic building.
Our directors Des Nixon and Chris Bato have worked together for almost 2 decades and are father and son in law. The company in its current form has been operating since 1996. Des and Chris have been directing the company together since 2008.
Des Nixon started work in the building industry in 1975 on the South Coast of NSW, working on an offshoot of the Snowy Mountains Scheme. He was transferred to Melbourne by Leighton Contractors in 1976 to supervise the Northern end of Museum Station. Des gained extensive practical and business experience working in Commercial Concrete construction and general Commercial and Domestic building activities for almost two decades before establishing DNAco. In the early years a strong base of Residential work, Churches, Medical and Radiology Practices were the mainstay of the business.
Chris Bato completed his VCE and Certificate in Basic Electronics in 1996 and worked in the Telecommunications industry as the last of the Telstra cable roll-out came to completion. In 1998 he began working at DNAco and, after completing his apprenticeship in Carpentry, swiftly moved into Supervision roles. In 2002 he became Supervisor for the first MRI installation for DNAco, this led into a variety of Hospital-based Projects. In 2006 he became full-time Medical Projects Manager and has since vastly expanded the Medical arm of the business.
At DNAco we believe that the most important thing we build is relationships. That’s why our business is thriving after 18 years of operation. The people that make up DNAco: the Supervisors, Carpenters, Labourers, Office Support Staff, Estimators, and Business Managers are our biggest asset. Together, our commitment to excellence, safety and good relationships have resulted in our growth and stability in the building industry.
