Supporting the Australian Craniofacial Unit
Established by Professor David David AC in 1984 to support the Australian Craniofacial Unit and its patients, Craniofacial Australia is the operating name of the Australian Cranio-Maxillo Facial Foundation, a registered not-for-profit Australian charity (Reg. No. CCP653). Further information about registered charities and their codes of conduct can be found at CHARITIES SA. Craniofacial Australia was established with significant seed funding provided through a national campaign by the Apex Foundation.
Craniofacial Australia has two principal streams of activity:
1.charitable fundraising for craniofacial treatment, research and care
2.disbursement of those funds towards:
-Australian Craniofacial Unit unfunded technical needs,
-its research program, and
-craniofacial patient welfare.
Other activities conducted by Craniofacial Australia include:
-coordination of national and international clinics conducted by Australian Craniofacial Unit members
-coordination of craniofacial conferences and other professional development programs
-public education through media liaison and the provision of speakers to community organisations
-maintaining an extensive Craniofacial Resource Library
