Veterinarians - Coorparoo, QLD

As one of Brisbane's longest serving vet clinics we offer a range of animal care services, including: Vaccinations, Pathology, Surgery, X-rays, Dental, Acupuncture, Puppy Pre School, and Pet Grooming.

Our goal is to practice, with compassion, the highest quality medicine and surgery while emphasizing patient care and client education. We have been setting this standard for compassionate, professional pet care since 1959 and will continue to do so for all the years to come.

We aim to give you honest advice about what your pet needs, rather than selling you unnecessary, expensive services.

Our Services Include:

All dogs and cats need to be vaccinated against life threatening diseases. It is important to remember that vaccinations need to be repeated regularly in order to maintain their effectiveness. Vaccinations should be given according to the schedule given by your veterinarian and should become part of your dog and cat’s annual veterinary checkup.

Unwanted litters can be an emotional and financial burden, as well as potentially adding to the already enormous problem of stray animals. Every year thousands of unwanted pets have to be destroyed by humane societies in Brisbane.

For health and behavioral reasons, it is recommended you get your animal desexed. The optimal age for desexing is 6 months. As this is a full- day surgical procedure, and can be performed at the clinic Monday to Friday.

Gum disease is usually caused by a build-up of calculus (or tartar) on the teeth and also occurs under the gum line. This can lead to destruction of the supporting jaw bone. Loss of tooth support from gum disease is the main reason the adult animals lose their teeth. In nearly all cases gum disease is treatable.

Owners are often unaware of gum disease in their pets. Some indications of gum disease are as follows:

· Bad breath

· Bleeding gums

· Receding gums

· Loose teeth

· Reluctance to chew

· Pawing at the mouth

Having a dental done on your pet is the same as a scale and polish done by a dentist for us. However, unlike us, our pets won’t sit still or open their mouth to allow a comprehensive cleaning of their teeth. For this reason our pets need to have a general anaesthetic for a professional dental clean.

Coorparoo Vet Clinic also offers soft-tissue and orthopaedic surgery, radiology, in-house and external pathology, dog grooming, cat clipping and acupuncture. The clinic carries a large range of products to meet your pet's needs. This includes both medicines and dietary products.
