Canton Bar

Behind the red door from a different era you will find Canton Bar. Situated on the final resting place of Perth’s first Chinese restaurant - the Old Canton. The restaurant may have opened as early as 1912 by a man simply known as “the Captain”, a very busy man indeed – apart from being restaurateur he also dabbled in bootlegging, Chinese décor and silk, and (allegedly) underground casinos (for more on the legend of the Captain).

With that in mind the spirit of the Captain continues with the lounge bar, now a space where you can feel comfortable in a casual, clever surrounding. Offering a selection of housemade cocktails, craft beers, dim sum and handmade dumplings, all the while honoring the gregarious and pioneering character that came before us.
