Berthas Cottage Bed & Breakfast
Bed & Breakfast - North Warrandyte, VIC
Bed & Breakfast Warrandyte.
Overnight and short stay accommodation.
Bertha's Cottage was purchased by us in 2004 in a derelict condition. Since that time we have had much pleasure in bringing the Cottage and Garden back to life. The garden was overgrown with agapanthus, cacti and fishbone fern, and now has become a thriving and very pretty garden, very much in keeping with the era of the cottage.
Bertha Brown lived in this cottage from 1924. She died in 1979 and the house was left vacant until our purchase of it in 2004.
When it came to choosing a name for our Cottage we thought it very appropriate to name it after Bertha Brown. Having researched Bertha and discovering remnants of her life in small relics left, we realised that Bertha lived when life was not easy for a woman on her own and that she was a real pioneer of our past, well worth remembering.
