Belmore Bowling & Recreation Club first took form in the mind of one of a number of worthy and public minded Belmore citizens. Arising out of this idea and the resultant talks between Tommy Johns, then President of the Canterbury Bankstown Football Club, Dave Cotter, Secretary of the Local Parks Committee, Alderman Bert Thorncraft.
