Australian Chamber Orchestra is renowned for its unrivalled virtuosity, energy, uniqueness and inspired programming which extends across six centuries, adventurous cross-artform projects, magnificent masterworks and pieces specially commissioned for the ensemble.
Since 1975, this string composed orchestra leads Australian and international artists in growing company dedicated to young players. The Orchestra plays a symphony orchestra, electroacoustic and chamber music ensemble collectively collaborating with a great range of artists from a number of artistic disciplines that includes renowned soloists Emmanuel Pahud, Steven Isserlis, Joseph Tawadros and Martin Frost; singers Teddy Tahu Rhodes, Katie Noonan, Dawn Upshaw and Paul Capsis; with diverse artists as visual artist Shaun Tan, cinematographer Jon Frank, photographer Bill Henson, entertainer Barry Humphries, cartoonist Michael Leunig and choreographer Rafael Bonachela.
