On a recent trip to Tassie we attended an event where our good friend Tim Duckett auctioned a 1 of 1 Heartwood release for charity. It got us chatting about how we continue to find rare and interesting drams for us all to enjoy.

Tim suggested that we work together and use the full spectrum of spirit and casks that he sources to create an interesting range of extremely limited whiskies exclusively for Barrel & Batch members. It was music to our ears!

’Hungary for Oak’ is Batch #1 of our first, and certainly not last, micro batches that we will be bottling from the Heartwood & TIB stables. This first batch has only 27 bottles available.

This Hungarian oak maturation this whisky is complex with notes of butterscotch, vanilla, clove, cinnamon and toffee. Being a Duckett release it’s big and oily with a fudgy texture that coats the mouth that we really love.
