The 2022 edition is the 14th annual release of The Irishman Cask Strength. Bernard Walsh, founder of Walsh Whiskey selects a small batch of casks of exceptional quality for this bottling. Previous releases have collected numerous awards but as a batch release, every year will produce its own nuances in flavour.
Despite being non-chill filtered this whiskey is bright amber to the eye. The nose shows green fruits of apple and pear with decadent spices of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. The palate has sweet apple blossom, wild honeycomb and nutty spice. The finish is medium in length with walnut, toasted oak and nutty spices lingering.
