Builders - Sydney, NSW
UrbanGrowth NSW located in Sydney has a mandate to drive urban transformation that will underpin the future prosperity of NSW.
UrbanGrowth NSW is the NSW Government’s urban transformation agency.
We are tasked with delivering a portfolio of projects that support the NSW Government's 20 year growth strategy – A Plan for Growing Sydney. Our major urban transformation projects are large in scale complex in nature. They will help shape the future of our city by creating vibrant urban places with new living and working opportunities, integrated with public transport, community facilities, and public open spaces.
UrbanGrowth NSW’s activities are primarily focused into two broad geographic regions; the central business district (CBD) and Western Sydney portfolios. Our projects will help strengthen the global competitiveness and liveability of our cities, as well as deliver investment and jobs growth through better use of the NSW Government’s land holdings and investment in transport infrastructure.
UrbanGrowth NSW is a state owned corporation which was established in 2013, integrating and refocussing the roles of the former Landcom.
UrbanGrowth NSW Development Corporation is an agency also established in 2013 taking on the responsibilities of the former Sydney Metropolitan Development Authority (SMDA) and the Redfern Waterloo Authority (RWA).
Since March 2014 UrbanGrowth NSW has had a mandate to focus on the planning and delivery of major urban transformation programs that will underpin the future prosperity of NSW. We collaborate with government, private, and community stakeholders to create a united vision for a program, building a strong sense of place and enabling its delivery.
Through the delivery of world class urban transformation, we aim to maximise the value of government land for the public good, improve the amenity and liveability of our urban spaces, and enable the delivery of housing and jobs growth.
Community and stakeholder engagement are key to achieving a shared ambition in the delivery of city transformation projects. The public good, both current and future, is at the heart of our decision-making and we are committed to delivering a best-in-class approach to community and stakeholder engagement.
UrbanGrowth NSW is transitioning out of greenfields home development, which is a legacy from the former Landcom, to focus on large-scale urban transformation and wholesale projects.
