Ian has been a chef for around 20 years. After qualifying in the UK he worked at a top French restaurant and has worked in Australia at several different restaurants. He has a wealth of experience and a love of creating extra special food.
Ben is a Sydney boy originally and has lived in Queensland for the past 6 years. He began in the food industry by managing a wholesale seafood company in Port Douglas and has worked in and out of restaurants for the last 15 years.
Ben and Ian met 13 years ago at the 5 star Hinchinbrook Island Resort where Ian was head chef and Ben was the cold larder chef. Ian’s passion and Ben’s drive (as well as both having a wicked sense of humour) complement each other perfectly and, after many years of talking about it, they finally decided to start something for themselves: The Bagel Boys.
After much looking around the Sunshine Coast to see what was missing and what we could make really well, we thought of bagels. Then the hard work began!
We sell our bagels at Noosa Farmers Market on Sundays, Queens Street Mall Markets, Brisbane every Wednesday and Powerhouse Markets, New Farm on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month, Eagle Farm, Rocklea, Manly and now also Mitchelton!.
We mix, roll, boil and bake our bagels in the traditional way freshly every day and have been told by some New Yorkers they are as good as the ones they get back home.
