Tasuke is a hole-in-the-wall noodle and sushi bar in Alinga Street at the Canberra CBD. Though Canberra is not short on cheap Asian cafes, some places do make you feel like you should've eaten something pricier if it means more delicious and healthier. Tasuke is a cheap eat, it is very sparse but the food is light and satisfying. Don't let the scruffy exterior turn you off. Inside, the no-nonsense venue is clean and utilitarian. Just a row of five long wooden tables with a few extra seating. Good for a quick, filling meal. The menu has sushi, sashimi, mains of chicken, eel, prawn, etc., ramen dishes and more. The menu is displayed on the wall, with pictures to guide you. No wine here but a handful of Japanese and Chinese beers (Kirin, Asahi, Sapporo black label, Tsingtao, a few sakes) which works great with the food.

Restaurant Type: Japanese, Vegetarian
