Veterinary and Pet Services - Bellerive, TAS
The core purpose of Tasmanian Animal Hospitals is to promote, support and enhance the relationship between people and their pets! We listen, understand and deliver!
Tasmanian Animal Hospitals began its life in 1984 on Hobart’s eastern shore as Clarence Vet Clinic. Founded by Dr Andrew Dudgeon the practice was located, as was the custom at the time, in a converted house in Percy Street, Bellerive.
Sorell Veterinary Clinic was founded in 1987 . The Practice was moved onto the current site in Gordon Street in 1989.
A new hospital building was erected at Percy Street in 1991 as the practice continued to grow through the 90’s.
Dr Rob Callaway joined the practice as in 1998, followed by Dr Chris Allfree in 2001 and Dr Gareth Stephensen joined us in 2007.
In 1999 Tasmanian Animal Hospitals was adopted as the practice name and a new phase began with the building of our Clarence Street Hospital in 2001. The only purpose built hospital at the time in the state. it continues to be a fantastic location with easy access for all clients.
Dr Allfree with his additional surgical qualifications and experience extended the range of surgical procedures being performed at the practice. He continues to take referrals for more advanced procedures from all over the State.
The Sorell Hospital was renovated and extended in 2004 to match the standard of our Bellerive Hospital.
Today Tasmanian Animal Hospitals is run by three Partners; Dr Andrew Dudgeon, Dr Robert Callaway and Dr. Gareth Stephensen.
