We are a young, experienced, innovative team striving to provide a new and fresh approach to dentistry remaining at the forefront of technology, techniques and infection control for all dental needs.
Cosmetic Dentistry in advertising refers to the improvement in the way your teeth look, where otherwise they are in a healthy state.
There is much advertising promoting "cosmetic dentistry"; it must be said however the profession itself does not make a distinction between the two, as the aim of all dentistry is to make you look and feel good. There is no specialty as such called cosmetic dentistry.
Our team uses a full range of composite, porcelain, zirconia and ceramic restorations where appropriate. Therefore all of our work must be functional, as well as look great. This ranges from cleaning, bleaching and orthodontics (braces) to more invasive procedures like bonding (composite resin and porcelain), crown and bridgework to implants. Even dentures are part of the cosmetic package.
Amalgam has served the public well, however as these restorations usually look grey or black as they get older, and the range of composite (tooth coloured resin) has improved, this material is really being phased out, more slowly in some practices than others. Perceived Health concerns about the mercury content have certainly accelerated the disappearance of the material.
So when considering improving the look of your teeth, a consult with your dentist should present you with a range of options where appropriate.
All of our general dentists are preferred providers with BUPA & HCF. Dr Sambrook and Dr Adhikari are not affiliated with this program
