WELCOME TO BRISBANE VETERINARY SPECIALIST CENTRE
What is different about BVSC and a general veterinary clinic?
A Veterinary Hospital is defined by Council as a veterinary facility where animals may be hospitalized overnight whereas a clinic provides facilities for day patients only.
A full town planning application was submitted to the Pine Rivers Shire Council for the development of BVSC and the facility has been approved without conditions as a Veterinary Hospital. This involved two independent sound engineers’ reports and a traffic impact assessment. All approvals are in place and the building is designed to meet all the local council requirements.
Can I easily get my pet into the hospital?
BVSC has wheel chair access and our friendly staff will help debilitated pets into the hospital. All you need to do is park in the patient pickup zone and our nurses and doctors will expertly and safely get your pet into the hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Are cats looked after at BVSC?
A special partially isolated section in the waiting room is allocated for cats and there is a separate cat ward in the hospital including a spacious cat run as well. The cat ward has windows providing a nice outlook, is air-conditioned and is spacious and naturally is very clean and hygienic. At BVSC we understand how fussy cats can sometimes be, therefore we stock many different types of foods to ensure we have something that your cat will enjoy, all special medical dietary requirements are catered for.
What are the hospital’s facilities like for dogs?
Dogs come in many shapes and sizes and all can be accommodated at BVSC. There are heated cages and this includes heated runs for very large dogs that also need special tender loving care and we have adequate soft bedding to ensure the greatest comfort. There is a secure dog exercise yard and all patients who do not have mobility restrictions are walked regularly 24hrs per day. Those who require a bath while in hospital are treated to indoor warm water baths using soap free shampoo's so as to not cause problems with your pets regular flea control. Dogs in hospital at BVSC are fed high quality Veterinary diets and as with our feline patients we will adhere to special medical dietary requirements.
At BVSC we understand that pets are an important part of your family life and like human hospitals you are able to visit your pet family members here at BVSC.
