One of the benefits of having native plants in your garden is that they are generally low maintenance. They require little or no pesticides, less water, less pruning and less of your time. They attract native birds and insects which helps keep your garden free of mosquitoes and plant eating bugs. In addition, native plants and gardens have the added benefit of looking fantastic. With many new species, forms and hybrids being brought into cultivation, the variety of beautiful and hardy natives are in abundance.

Selecting the right plant for the right location is of utmost importance. Colour, leaf shape, size, spacing and flowering times are all part of the design process, along with coastal and country considerations. To carry out this task effectively requires a sound knowledge of native plant performance in the local area. At Blue Ridge we have the knowledge, experience and design principles to ensure a beautiful and successful garden.

In addition to garden design, we also offer a professional garden maintenance service. This is where we can help maintain your newly established garden, your already established garden or
re-establish the garden that has turned into a bit of a jungle. Garden maintenance is a very important part
of keeping any garden healthy and beautiful. Call us now for a free

One of the great pleasures of having native plants in your garden is that many species attract our wonderful local birds to your garden. To attract birds in your garden, food, shelter and suitable nesting sites need to be provided. Food, in the form of nectar producing flowering shrubs and trees, is a natural by-product of a native garden. Careful plant selection will provide flowers for birds for most of the year. Some examples of bird attracting plants are Grevillea, Banksia, Callistemons and Correas.
