Bay Of Fires Wines
Restaurants - Pipers River, TAS
The winery was founded upon the vision and spirit of our dedicated winemaking and viticultural team, who believed Tasmania would one day be the pre-eminent region in Australia to produce cool climate.
The 2014 vintage was a year of low yields, 25-35% down on average across Tasmania. However, what was lacking in size was more than compensated for at Bay of Fires with intense flavour and aroma in Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, richness and structure in Pinot Gris and Chardonnay with deep, bright colour in our Pinot Noir. A season more closely aligned to 2002 and 2007 which have boasted the most age worthy Rieslings, Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs in Bay of Fires' 13 year history.
"The Bay of Fires winery potential has now been fully realised in the most impressive imaginable fashion – Bay of Fires table wines and its successive multi-trophy-winning vintages of Pinot Noir in particular, have an exalted reputation; the House of Arras traditional method sparkling wines made by Ed Carr are, if anything, of even greater quality and renown"
